George Michael

George Michael

Those of you who know me well will be aware that in a previous lifetime, a lifetime before mental illness and my art, which saved me, I was, for more years than I'd like to admit to, a wedding, corporate events singer and DJ.

I suffered a stroke in 2017 which forced me to ease back a little. I stopped doing the weddings and djing to focus purely on tribute singing. I performed tribute shows dedicated to a number of stars, Freddie Mercury and Queen, Tom Jones, lots of others too but my all time favourite songs to perform were the songs of George Michael. I had already started doing a GM tribute show a few years earlier and was of course completely stunned when George Michael left us on Christmas day 2016. It was at that stage that I decided to put together a 2.5 hour Symphonica Show in memory of George.

In 2020 the pandemic struck and I had to shield. All the venues closed. I had a bad year which ended in me being diagnosed with PTSD, Clinical Depression and Severe Anxiety disorder. I quit my day job and my singing abd djing and started drawing on January 4th 2021.

So it was only a matter of time before I wanted to draw George.

George Older was my first effort in 2021. Thus shows the young George and his older self together in a twin portrait.

In September 2022 I drew Faith.

Both drawings are sold.
